Abstract
Despite the considerable growth and extensive applications of Information and Communication Technology in Human Resource Management noted from the other parts of the world, the level of adoption and its impact are still under-researched in developing countries, Tanzania included. This study was centered on examining the adoption and effects of ICT in recruitment and selection in Tanzanian with a focus on Fountain Technologies Tanzania Ltd. The study involved 36 respondents and employed mixed research techniques in sampling selection and data collection. The study findings revealed that ICT is used at large extent in recruitment and selection. The study revealed benefits to include proper records keeping, time saving, easy access to company’s information through website, less paper work, quality and accuracy, cost reduction, reaching broader audiences, reducing work load and paper work. The challenges faced by organizations is using ICT for recruitment and selection include inadequate infrastructures, poor availability of internet connections, limited knowledge on ICT and files attached by Viruses. The findings of this study will provide knowledge to researchers and other development practitioners on the use of ICT on recruitment and selection to organizations. Also, the study helps the policy makers and planners in the enforcement of ICT policy and create conducive environment for use of ICT in many organizations in Tanzania.
