Political conflict and its impact on Southern Sudan

This study sets out to examine Political Conflict and its impact on southern Sudan. The researcher was encouraged by personal and public need to understand better, the question of political conflict in the Sudan and its related developments attributed to the general crisis in the south of the country.
Argument of the Study. The argument of the study is that the political conflict and continuing instability has its origin in the colonial past and that the policy has been carried forward to the latter by the successive Arab Islamic regimes in Khartoum. The southern Sudan has therefore seen great and pervasive holocaust of suffering which manifested itself in political, economic and social crisis. The investigation of this study reveals pertinent issues worth considering for eventual conflict resolution in the country.
