This study was conducted to determine the Usefulness of information system in Clearing and Forwarding Agencies 9CFAs) in Tanzania. A survey was conducted amongst ten clearing and forwarding agencies in Temeke district of Dar es salaam. The data collected from 141 respondents were analyzed using regression analysis. In order to accomplish the main objective, three hypotheses were tested with regard to four variables, namely, Value for Money (VM), user satisfaction (US), Decision Making(DM) and Usage of the System (UTS). Multiple regression test of significant of predictor variables (VM,US and DM) on dependent variable (UTS) was performed. The null hypothesis tested on US and DM against UTS was rejected for all significant levels greater than 0.05. this implies that US and DM significantly influence on usage of the system. On the other hand, the researcher was unable to reject the null hypothesis when the null hypothesis on VM was tested against usage of the system in CFAs. In this research, it significantly affected by US and DM. also, the age bracket figures showed that majority of active workers in the CFAs 60.3 percent were between 26 and 35 years of age of the sampled population. The observation showed that majority of the CFAs employees in the study area hold a degree. Finally findings showed that 49.6 percent who represented the biggest proportion of the respondents were from the logistics department. The study concludes that decision- making and users satisfaction significantly influence on usage of information system in clearing and forwarding agencies in Tanzania. As the study intended to explore usefulness of information system in CFAs, results suggest that decision-making and user’s satisfaction lead to proper usage of information system. However, strategies must be designed in order to address challenges they faced.en_US
