dc.description.abstractThis thesis directly scrutinizes into the sustainability of non profit NGOs, taking into deep consideration the mushrooming perceptions while considering that they play positive role in speeding up socio-economic development. It is argued that the emergency of non profit NGOs has been a driving force behind the on-going wind of democratization blowing across the breath of African continent and the resultant positive economic impacts. The problem is on how non- profit NGOs could be sustain in terms of resources, programmes and organizational as a whole. The objective of the paper is to examine how non profit making civil societies organization have been operating within local and national spheres using available resources, structures, programmes and hoe sustainable they are. The study is based on qualitative through secondary data and quantitative through primary data collection methods. Analysis of the finding discloses that non profit NGOs are formed according to the needs of the community through they do not have specific theories to follow. It also noted that the main actor in policy formulation within the organization are governing board and the existences of project plans within non profit NGOs has made the development programmes and the organization sustained. The study recommends that the non profit NGOs should envisage fulfilling social responsibilities in bringing up sustainable development they are committed to achieve their mission and vision.en_US
