The modified technology acceptance model (TAM) is used to examine organizational acceptance, staff satisfaction, ICT utilization, perceived usefulness of ICT, and perceived ease of use of ICT at the Bank of Tanzania. The results show perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use as having a significant effect. However, perceived usefulness was found to be a more important determinant of ICT acceptance than perceived ease of use. The results also confirm staff satisfaction and system reliability as significant variables representing perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. The usage of the TAM in a wide variety of ICT systems assessment situations is supported in this study. The results found in this study support the technology acceptance models psychometric properties. It was found that the individual characteristics of self-efficacy and computer anxiety significantly influenced perceived ease of use, as did the management support. Thus even when applied in a general sense, the TAM model appears to be robust and should be as a means to assess ICT systems and user behaviour.en_US
