Abstract
In Resolution 3337 (XXIX) on international cooperation to combat desertification the General Assembly of the United nations requested an assessment and evaluation of all available data relating to the desertification processes and the effect of these processes on economic development with a view to the formulation of an integrated overall plan of action to combat desertification in the world.
