The study assessed communication flow and channels of communication utilized in public organizations; also the study assessed patterns of information flow and communication challenges encountered by public organizations. TCRA was selected to represent the public organizations in Tanzania. Data were collected from both secondary sources (by review of documentary sources) and primary sources through face-to-face interview with key informants, self-administered questionnaires and observations. Findings from the study revealed that TCRA employees are faced with various communication challenges such as not getting feedback, delay in getting feedback, poor communication skills, frequent power failure and poor communication infrastructure. The study concludes that effective communication is a vital part for organizational development and CRA tries as much as possible to improve communication flow. However, there are various communication challenges (as mentioned above) which hinder communication flow. The study recommends that the government should put more effort to improve communication in public organizations that there should be an additional budget to public organizations, priority should be given to establishment and additional of communication infrastructure and conduct communication training to staff. Also, there should be review of communication policy which will consider changes in technology and institute appropriate use of communication tools. In addition, public organizations should institute good relationships with co-workers, which will enable open communication.en_US
