The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of selected learning experiences in geography on students attitude toward cooperation. It was assumed that the selected learning experiences would enhance students evaluation of cooperation. Solomon's for- group design was used in the study. This enabled the investigator to have two control streams and two experimental streams. Two streams were pre-tested using a semantic differential questionnaire to obtain the students prevailing attitude toward cooperation. Then two streams were provided with the learning variable after which all the four streams were post-tested using the same semantic differential questionnaire. Using the four groups the investigator was able to determine the effect of sensitization by the questionnaire in pre-testing on students attitude toward cooperation. Then he was also able to deternine the combined effect of the questionnaire sensitization and the learning experiences. Finally the net effect of the selected learning experiences on students cooperative attitude was determined. The data obtained for the evaluation of cooperation in general were presented using mean scores for every item, and in each stream for every test. The mean scores were added up and divided by the number of items to obtain the mean of the mean scores for cooperation in each stream for every test. Then the mean of mean scores for each of the five indicators of cooperation was calculated for each stream. The combined effect of the questionnaire sensitization on cooperation in general was determined. Then the sensitization effect by the questionnaire on students cooperative attitude was determined Finally the effect of the selected learning experiences on students attitude toward cooperation was determined. The same procedure was repeated on the five indicators of cooperation to see which of the indicators was the most effective in enhancing students cooperative attitude. The findings revealed that the selected learn experiences in geography enhanced students attitude toward cooperation. Cooperation was rated as good and beneficial. A look at the indicators of cooperative attitude revealed that students considered individualism as equally good and beneficial. Further more it was revealed that sharing, groupwork and participation were the most effective in enhancing students cooperative attitude. The learning experiences provided did not seem to have reduced students individualistic attitude.en_US
