dc.description.abstractThe general objective of this study was to access the effectiveness of pricing strategies on tobacco products sand was carried out at Tanzania Cigarette Company Limited. The study was narrowed down into two specific objectives, the first objective was to determine the influence of product pricing strategies on corporate sales growth and the second objective was to determine the impact of excise tax on tobacco products on pricing decisions. The study used case study method, and personal interview together with questionnaire methods 78 respondents who were asked to express their opinions on factors that influences pricing decision were employed in the study and therefore data were collected from interview, questionnaire and documentary reviews. The statistical Program for Social Sciences (SPSS) was used for data analysis, Reliability analysis was used to test the reliability of data collected through questionnaire and non-parametric test-chi squire method was used to interpret the results, regression analysis was also used to determine the relationship among variables and fir testing hypothesis. The research finding have shown that Product pricing strategies adopted by the Tanzania Cigarette Company have significant influence on corporate sales growth. The recommendation made are expected to be of useful to business participation who will realize the importance of understanding various pricing theories and of adopting effective pricing policies, strategies and pricing tactics whenever there are pricing decision to ensure growth of Companies in terms of sales volume and sales revenue.en_US
