The purpose ofthis study was to investigate the factors that prohibit management of Health and Safety in Tanzanian private work organizations. The case of Kibena Tea Estate located at Njombe District, Iringa Region. The study sample comprised 100 respondents from two categories; management and non managerial employees. Research methods used to collect data included interview, questionnaire, observation and documentary review. The findings of the study revealed that lack of safety training, motivation, negligence of employees to use HS facilities, stress, lack of HS inspection, employer's negative attitude towards HS function, lack of awareness of HS laws and regulation and environmental pollution were among the factors that affected the management of HS function in KTE. From the study it is recommended that the Government should ensure that Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is strengthened for effective monitoring of Occupational Safety and Health standards at workplaces, the management through Human Resources Department should organize an elaborate training program for both managers and employees. It was also suggested that occupational safety and health services should put in place the special facilities of those in need, which include workers with disabilities, old workers, and workers living with or affected by HIV/AIDS, and finally the organization should keep accurate records of accidents.en_US
