The increase in population growth has put demand on social services such source of water supply (Groundwater) is although springs and bore holes and at the moment the abstraction is about 42,000m3/day. The main aim of this study was to develop a comprehensive management tool capable of deriving future consequences of different pumping policies. The tool will be used for recommending on aquifer abstraction for sustained water resources of the aquifer. A rectangular area of aquifer of 100km2 covering Arusha Municipality and it's well field plus the two wards- in Arumeru district was considered. V.isual MODFLOW , a three dimensional finite-difference groundwater flow model was used to simulate unsteady y flow in the unconfined Arusha aquifer. SURFER software was used to prepare the input data for the MODFLOW, a three dimensional finite-difference groundwater flow model was used to prepare the input data for the MODFLOW.enGroundwaterWater-supplyManagementAquifersArushaGroundwater management of Arusha aquifer TanzaniaThesis
