Specifically the study intended to examine causes of overcrowded in primary school classrooms, assess resources distribution in primary school, and examined impacts of crowdness on academic performance and classroom teaching and learning process. The study was quantitative and qualitative in nature, data were collected through questionnaire, interviews, observations and documentary reviews. Probability and non-probability sampling methods were employed to get targeted schools and respondents. Data were analysed using content analysis methods, a three-way approach was used where as data were reduced to short statements and displayed, followed by drawings and verifying conclusion about them. Some explanations were presented as quotations. The findings revealed that most of the primary schools had high number of students which affects teaching and learning processes. It was also learnt that overcrowded in primary school has significant impacts on the distribution of teaching and learning resources, teaching a activities’ and pupils learning and academic performance. Overcrowded affects classroom teaching and reduces the capacity of teachers to use participatory teaching methods. The study recommended that local government authorities, should improve distribution of teaching and learning resources in public primary schools, and contribute to awareness on the implications of overcrowded in primary school and its implications on teaching and learning as well as resources distribution.
