Health protection to consumers i$ mostly done through resulting commodities in the market. With high competition in this era of globalization, there is a variety of products in the market like never before. To have various products in the market is a good thing but at the same time consumers are facedwith difficult in deciding which products could satisfy them best, Given limited information consumers could have on a range of products at their disposal, unregulated products are more risky that regulated ones, Tanzania government regulates products through Tanzania Bureau of Standards which was established in 1975 as National Standards Institute before the name changed to TBS in 1977 with the aim of controlling quality of commodities of all descriptions This study intended to explore the influence of product standardization on Tanzania consumers' choices. Data were collected from consumers, manufacturers and TBS itself which were analysed quantitatively using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) and qualitatively through description. The findings show that there is no adequate cooperation between TBS and consumers. Also consumers do not have full confidence in TBS. It is recommended that TBS increase its advertisements to advice consumers to use products that are regulated by the institution. Also it is recommended that it is important for TBS to open zonal offices to facilitate effective quality products in the whole country.enInfluence of product standardizationconsumers' choicesTanzaniaInfluence of product standardization on Tanzanian consumers' choices: a case of Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBSThesis
