Second, the study examined the underlying factors of work motivation and their respective importance. Lastly, the study endeavoured to determine the level of motivation of the employees. The study involved a total of 130 employees extracted from different departments of MHA in Dar es salaam region where the headquarters is located. Data were collected by the use of self-administered questionnaires. The study findings suggested that many employees ` age ranged from 26 to 54 years, had worked at MHA for a period of five or less years ans were employed under permanent base. It was the view of the majority of those employees that they would be rather motivated by better housing and transportation. Furthermore, the study found out that overall employees were motivated to moderate extent by the available factors of motivation. The study gave recommendations to the decisions makers of the Ministry Of Home Affairs (MHA), to administrators and job supervisors on issues that could be addressed in order to improve employees` level of motivation and the overall well beingenEmployee motivationMinistry of Home AffairsDar es Salaam regionTanzaniaWork motivation public sector employees: case of the employees under the ministry of home affairs in Dar es salaam regionThesis
