The ignorance in Project management has resulted into poor performance or abandonment of projects. Literature review indicated on application of cadastral and aerial survey in surveying and mapping projects with reference to application of project management, tools and techniques was done. The study framework was also established by using WBS. Qualitative data were collected using interviews and questionnared. Data were collected from a sample people who were involved in the Dar es salaam City (20,000 plots) project. The research observed that project management tools and techniques were applied in varying degrees in the Dar es Salaam city (20,000 plots) project, the range of application of the said tools and techniques range from 32%-95%. The research recommended that, stakeholders including the Government cooperate in training and applying project management skills in surveying and mapping project.
