Substance C, isolated from H. abyssinica and S. maritima was found to be mainly saturated hydro-carbon and the structure of the major component is tentatively assigned. Another saturated hydro-carbon, substance D, was isolated from S. maritima together with the flavone, rutin. Ursolic acid and a highly unsaturated compound with formula C22H16O7 were obtained from Hoslundia opposita (Vahl.). The structure of the highly unsaturated compound is not elucidated.enLabiataeMedical plantsChemical studies on some medical plants from simaroubsaceae and labiatae familiesThesis
