A number of SPP have been prepared by polymerisation technique. Two types of polymerisation techniquies namely, additional and condensation polymerisation were employed in the preparation. Sizing of the SPP has been done by sieve analysis. Both types of polymerisation produced SPP which were in the size range of between 0.063 mm to 2.00 mm. Surface areas of between 1.3906 m2/g to 260.53 m2/g were obtained in a few samples of SPP tested. Spherical polymeric particles prepared by condensation polymerisation had relativity small surface areas and their adsorption capacity towards captions was small. Additional polymerised SPP had relatively large surface areas. Adsorption capacity tests were conducted on a number of the SPP. The results obtained have shown a correlation between the adsorption capacity of the SPP with its surface area and the way it was prepared. Chemical resistance tests on the SPP were done and a summary of the results obtained has been given. A survey on the literature of preparing spherical polymeric particles has been givenenAdsorptionPolymerizationTanzaniaPreparation of spherical polymeric particles (SPP) from Tanzania cashew nut shell liquid (CNSL) for adsorption applicationThesis
