In pursuing this study, reference is made to the European Economic Community and some experiences are drawn there from. It is observed that much as economic integration is important to the growth and development of Third World countries, it is not a panacea to their economic problems. It is further observed that failures of many of Africa’s integration schemes are due to some deficiencies in their constitutions including lack of serious commitment to their respective programmes.
