The study aimed to shed light on the satisfication of local community for those who are involved in tourism and those who are not involved in tourism towards socio cultural, trend of tourism, economic and environmental impacts of tourism. Structured questionnaire was formulated to obtain information from local community that are involved in tourism and those who are not involved in tourism, whereby a total number of 160 respondents from households in five sub-villages of the study area (Marangu, Umbwe,Rongai,Machame and Mwika) were taken as sample to represent the population. Selection of sample depends on population size of particicular sub-village and willingness of respondents to participate on this study. Descriptive statistics and inferential statistics were used in this study, whereby multiple liner regression and independent test were used. The results of regression analysis revealed that, the satisfaction of local community is affected by economic, trend of tourism and environmental impacts of tourism. But on other side, there is no evidence that local community satisfaction is affected by the socio-cultural impacts local community towards tourism. Moreover, respondents say that those who benefited economically are the foreigners coming from other areas and even tour companies came with their own climbing staffs while the tourists come to their area with full packages and hence the local community remain poor and does not benefit economically from tourism. Finally, the study recommended that further tourism development projects should be initiated in the local community since this will improve their economic status.enTourismEconomic aspectsEnviromental aspectsCommunity satisficationKilimanjaroMount (Tanzania)TanzaniaThe satisfication of local community towards sociol-cultural, trend of tourism, economic and Environmental impact of tourism: The case of areas around Mountain KilimanjaroThesis
