The findings of the study revealed that, in the studied institutions the disposition of students’ examination records is not properly done due to the absence of retention schedule, there is little awareness of CBE and TIA staff on records management best practices, in adequate staffing, lack of professional training as well as inadequate allocation of fund leading to some students not graduating in time, poor decision making, poor office space management. The study recommends HLIs to have universal retention schedule and institutional records center and archives to reduce congestion of students records. Similarly, HLIs should recruit professional and adequate staff and should provide adequate fund and formulation of digital archive. Also there should be regular visitation of National archives staff to HLIs for inspection and advice.enExamination recordsGraduate records examinationTanzania Institute of Accountancy (TIA)University and CollegesStudents, College of Business Education (CBE)Dar es SalaamTanzaniaThe disposition of students’ examination records at the College of Business Education (CBE) and the Tanzania Institute of Accountancy (TIA), Dar es Salaam.Thesis
