Specifically, the study examined the influence of motivation attributes, strategies toward employee motivation and employee atitudes on the motivational strategies on employee retention. The variables’ relationships were established through explanatory approach under the positivism philosophy. The study uses Primary and secondary data. 45 respondents were randomly sampled from CRDB BANK PLC staff. Primary data were collected through questionnaires and interviews. Data were analyzed using SPSS . The findings revealed that the level of motivation of workers at the CRDB Bank PLC was on average. The study found out the importance of motivation to the staff leads to retention and also the study found out that the importance of working as a team leads to motivation to all employees. The study recommends that the management should pay attention to motivational attributes, strategies and employee altitudes so as to raise the level of motivation in the Bank. This would eventually reduce employee turnover and increase employees’ loyalty to the bank.
