This study used computer multimedia instructional materials (CMIM) in teaching Mathematics to Form 3 students who study computer at two secondary schools. The purpose of this study was established as an integrated technology into Tanzania classrooms to see if it has positive results. An experimental design was used. The study involved 53 Form 3 students from two secondary schools in Moshi Municipality. An experimental group comprised 22 students, and 31 students formed a control group. Both groups were taught a topic in Mathematics for 4 weeks. The experimental group was taught using computer multimedia instructional materials (CMIM) while the control group was taught without using computer multimedia instructional materials. Both groups were pre-tested before the experiment and post-tested after 4 weeks using the same achievement test. Data were analysed using the Statistical package for the Social Science (SPSS version 16). The statistical value showed that the experimental group performed better than the control group in the post-test the statistical results exposed that there was statistically significant improvement in Mathematics learning in the experiment group. The study found that students had positive attitude toward the use of computer multimedia instructional materials in learning Mathematics. It was also found out that secondary schools teachers had no experience on the use of Computer multimedia instructional materials in teaching Mathematics. It is recommended that the government of Tanzania should support the use of computers in secondary schools and it should design and implement the necessary professional development plans to ensure that teachers have the knowledge and skills to successfully implement the use of technology in Mathematics teaching. Teachers and students should have computer technology skills. They should use the technology effectively in teaching and learning. It is also recommended that there is a need for more research on the area of technology in teaching. Since this study surveyed a small sample; there is a need for more study to be done on different parts of Tanzania.encomputer multimediamathematicsordinary levelsecondary schoolsteachinglearningMoshiTanzaniaThe contribution of computer multimedia products towards the teachings and learning of mathematics in Tanzanian ordinary level secondary schools: a case of Moshi municipalityThesis
