dc.description.abstract | The current technology in business transactions in Tanzania requires people to interact physically in order to complete transaction. This practice produces a number of challenges that slows the speed of country’s economy. Cash is being used and physical interaction between involving parties is necessary. A number of issues arise in this process which includes robbery risk while travelling to the market place, lack of area for product comparison before moving to market place, uncertainty to finding product information like price, quality, availability of product and easy of comparison of similar product. Most of the time products are seen to expire in one place while they are in high demand at another place within the country. This research analyzes the different ways the business can be conducted online. It explains issues associated with online commerce for developing countries which includes technology, infrastructure, device, legal support, economy and security which affect adoptability of online systems to developing countries including Tanzania. A tel-ecommerce application as a model that uses online web based system and telephone payment has been developed to act as a measure to reduce above issues and ensure product delivery to unplanned cities which fits Tanzania environment. The results of this research shows that the development of tel-ecommerce system will assist not only in giving alternative to commercial practice but also reduces security risk of travelling with money while expected to increase sales volume and enhance product quality for internally produced products. | en_US |
