Internet services have become a way of life around the globe, predominantly In United States of America and Europe. In Africa, Internet Services have just been introduced. It Is good to note that where there has been Internet Services, there are rapid developments in terms of information access, and exchange of technologies. In Tanzania, few organizations have established a link to the World Wide Web in order to access the information around the world through the Internet. The intention is good but these efforts have not yet yielded results, which were anticipated. Most of the links have deficiencies such as low speed of operation and small bandwidth allocation. Many users in Tanzania do not utilize the Internet fully because they do not have inputs (raw materials) into the system. It is costly for an organization to connect to the Internet. The running and maintenance costs of the Internet are very high. The above highlighted factors stimulated a need for this study. This exposition looked into one of the most advanced applications of Internet: That is 'Introduction of Videoconferencing (VC) Systems for the Tanzanian Parliament1. The study has analysed the technology needed to build a healthy and efficient Networking System that supports VC. This involved acquisition of data on the existing network and analysis of its ability to support the VC Systems. From the data collected, laboratory experiments were made using PCs, PC Camera, microphone and speaker. Through this study, it was possible to establish point-to-point VC within a Local Area Network (LAN). Beyond the LAN, Dodoma-Dar es Salaam, VC was established with difficulty due to interoperability and small bandwidth of the Network under consideration. Finally Pictures and Data for the conducted Experiments are presented.en_US
