dc.description.abstractRural Water and Sanitation Initiative was established in 2003 aiming at attaining full access to sufficient, safe and affordable water supply by 2025 in Rural Africa. The initiative aimed at meeting Millennium Development Goals target of 70% access to water supply in Rural Africa. This study has been conducted in Morogoro District with the main objective of assessing Project Integration Management processes for Rural Water Supply Projects in Tanzania and develops a model for the best practice. Also, the study identifies the best practices in rural water supply services and project integration process gap during project implementation by comparison with the best practices. The study uses both Quantitative and Qualitative approach and employed random sampling technique and purposive methods as sampling design methods. A total of 241 samples were taken which include households, LGA/MoWI and Consultant/Contractor in three selected schemes namely Mkambarani, Kiziwa and Mlilingwa. Various tools were used in data collection which includes Questionnaire, focus group discussion, participatory rural approach, literature review and direct observation. Data were then analyzed using SPSS, Excel, and Microsoft Visio to meet the objective of the study. A comparative approach was used to compare data obtained from field and literature regarding successfully water supply projects. Finally, the study analyses the best practices process in rural water supply project and how they can be modeled to enhance project integration. The study also proposed the conceptual model to enable successfully project management taking into account integration processes from initial stage to completion.en_US
