Submission of a dissertation of ten surgical conditions is part of the University of Dar es Salaam's requirements for the award of the degree of Master of Medicine in general surgery. This work is to meet that demand. It consists of three sections i.e. five conditions of general surgery, two conditions of urology and three conditions of orthopaedics and trauma. Entirely of my own choice, the conditions are those frequently met, or of practical significance. In every condition, appraisal of one case is presented followed by analysis, literature review and discussion of the rest.en_US
