Descriptive data were correlated to confirm the results. The findings reveal that, important factors that accounted for the sector technological capability were; techno physical capacity, skills and experience and services provided in oil and gas industry. The most significant driver for increasing the local capacity in the sector was skill and experience level. The findings also show that technological capacity of the country in oil and gas industry is 19.9% which indicates a gap of 30-40% of the local content for optimum benefit of the resource, and that more than 80% of the technology is imported. Based on these findings, study recommends that; government should develop a legal provision in local content policy for 50% of local participation in industry activities.en_US
