Apart from the conflict between employers’ desire to maximize profits and workers determination to maximize returns of their labour, there are other factors which have shaped the development of Tanzania’s industrial relations system and account for some of the industrial relations strife which have occurred in the country from the colonial time to the present day/. As have manifested themselves in different periods, these factors include a week economy, defective disputes resolution mechanisms and inexperience of employees, employers and labour administrators with collective bargaining. Many of these problems can be solved through the introduction of an effective system of industrial relations.en_US
