This study uses the kinematic equations of water and sediment flows to determine the water and sediment discharges from an overland flow plane. The numerical method with the lax-wendroff explicit scheme is used to solve the continuity equations of water and sediment, from which an explicit equation for water depth and sediment concentration is obtained. Using these equations for water depth and sediment concentration a Fortran computer program was developed to computer water and sediment discharge from the overland flow. The developed numerical solution is more flexible in comparison to the analytical solution. It can accommodate both constant and varying rainfall intensity, and it can also take into account the effect of infiltration on the surface of the plane. The numerical model is applied for constant rainfall intensity and non-infiltrating surface. The computed results are in a good agreement with the results of the two methods.en_US
