| dc.description.abstract | In Tanzania, there is still existence of wide disparities in having access and utilization of maternal and child health services. This is despite the government effort, sound programs and policies in support of various reproductive and child health services. The aim of this study was to examine Equity in utilization of reproductive and child health services. The study was conducted in Moshi Municipality- Tanzania. The study used a survey design, whereby quantitative approach was used in examining equity in the utilization of reproductive and child health services. Data was collected among 156 women using a structured questionnaire and was analyzed using both descriptive statistics and Logit regression model in the SPSS version 23.0. The findings show that, low educated, less wealthy respondents are less likely to utilize reproductive and child health services in Moshi Municipality. At the same time, attitude of health attendants, affordability of services and the distance to the health facility were also contributing to inequity in the utilization to some of the services. The study showed evidence of the inequity in the utilization of reproductive and child health services among different social groups in Moshi Municipality. In order to achieve equity there is a need for continued efforts in increasing health education and implementation of interventions which eliminate and reduce barriers stimulating the disparities in the use of reproductive and child health services in Moshi Municipality. | en_US |
