Abstract
The study focused on assessment of strategies for enhancing competitiveness in Tanzania Telecommunications Company Limited (TTCL). The purpose of this study was mainly to assess the existing strategies, identify factors/problems that hindering competitiveness outcome in Telecommunication sector. The study adapted a qualitative research approach in order to pinpoint TTCL’s problems. Data were collected through structured questionnaires. Findings revealed that Tanzania Telecommunications Company Limited has strategic plans that are not accomplished as planned. Also there are other factors/problems in TTCL that hinder competitiveness such as inadequate funds that lead to failure to failure to implement some development projects. Some recommendations have been presented in order to help TTCL succeed in providing proper services in the Telecommunications sector such as finding financial assistance for new developments instead of relying on revenue collections only, reconsider its marketing strategy as well as consider revising its management positions.
