Corruption has long been a focus of concern. However, despite of existence of construction professional bodies in Tanzania e.g. the ERB, AQRB, CRB, NCC and others to regulate the conduct of professionals in construction industry, there still have been unethical practices mostly in the form of corruption among professions in the construction industry. This research addresses the unethical issues, particularly corruption related practices facing the construction industry of Tanzania. It forms a Framework for ethical standards by recommending concrete measures. Recommendations have been based on the identification of unethical issues from the comprehensive and in depth research carried out through intensive literature review, questionnaires, interviews and consultation to various stakeholders in the industry. It was revealed by this study that there are unethical practices which are in the form of corruption in the construction industry, these practices occur in form of undertaking work beyond capability, bribery, favouritism and inappropriate bidding, unfair conduct, strict rules, and overriding of audit process over contracting process. When corruption is successfully controlled, there is greater inflow of foreign investments, higher per capital income growth, higher literacy rate and increased business growth in a country; hence, eradicating corruption in Tanzania is inevitable.en_US
