Current technology for predicting sediment yield, reservoir sedimentation as well as reservoir life and reliability are examined with reference to the Tanzania situation and Iringa region in particular. It is found that these methods are applicable. In particular, the simple and multiple linear regression models, Gill's method for reservoir life and Gould's method for reservoir reliability are shown to have immense potential far practical utility in sediment studies.en_US
