    The critical factors influencing adoption of new technologies: the case of mobile nursing technologies in Tanzania hospitals

    The purpose of this study of this study was to examine the critical factors that affect the adoption of mobile nursing technologies in Tanzania hospitals. Based on survey with 200 nursing supervisors in Dar es Salaam, Dodoma, Iringa and Tanga region hospitals. The data was collected using a structured questiommaire and was analysed using SPSS computer software. The findings of the study indicate that the mobile nursing technologies adoption is significantly affected with;education of internal users, political system in Tanzania, legal system and mobile nursing technologies and the characteristics of mobile devices. The findings could provide some meaningful implications for the practitioners and researchers that are interested in the adoption of mobile nursing technologies in Tanzania. In the process of adoption of mobile nursing technologies the above mentioned factors should be considered. It is recommended to computerize all hospital departments so as to improve quality of care and be able to compete in the market. Consumer analysis will be very useful to understand area for improvement. Large prospective studies are recommended to evaluate quality of care after introduction of mobile nursing technologies in Tanzania
