The work addresses challenges regarding implementation of the East African Community legal instruments and decisions pertaining to border management. This author has used a combination of primary and secondary methods of data collection, whereas structured interviews were used to collect data from government officials, private sector and members of border communities. Data and information were also collected through the use of internet and library materials. The study found that there is poor implementation of the EAC Treaty, Protocols and decisions particularly in relation to border management.
