    The impact of information and communication Technology on organization’s performance: A case of tanzania Electric Supply Company Limited (TANESCO)

    This study sought to examine the impact of ICT on organization’s performance. On top of that, the study focused on how failures are managed, challenges faced, and offered recommendations on what should be done to improve Organization Performance. A case study strategy, that employed Questionnaires were used to collect data from different respondents and then analyzed by simple statistics. A sample of 92 respondents was used, from TANESCO Head Office and other five Regional Offices, namely, Ilala, Temeke, Kinondoni North, Kinondoni South and Arusha. In due course, a Statistical Package for Social Sciences SPSS was used in analysis. Techniques for quantitative data analysis for frequency distribution and percentages, correlations analysis, analysis of variances (ANOVA) employed. Findings from the study revealed that handling financial transactions has an impact on ICT on the organization’s performance. Furthermore, need for frequent staff training to improve their performance, also use of integrated system instead of several systems and thorough assessment of the system before implementation so as realize for better performance. Results have implications to policy and management. It is recommended that parastatal Organizations should put effort on capacity building in enhancing employees at all levels to cope with ICT changes. That can be realized by letting organizations and nation as a whole move successfully towards globalization by enhancing effective and efficient service provision to its customers. Eventually organizations can profit by investing in ICT, as it maximizes exploitation by using it.
