The study was done at the University of Dar es Salaam by involving all students who completed their degrees from 2011 to 2013. Apart from previous performance, the study also examined on how sex, college attended and the year of completion affect university performance. Data analysis was done through SPSS and the ANOVA results revealed that it was significant that previous performance do affect future performance. Results revealed further that it is true that previous performance predicts future performance. Generally, despite the year completed at the university or sex or college attended, all data revealed that students’ previous performance affected their achievement at university. From the results then, the researcher suggested that efforts should be made to ensure that students perform better at their lower level of studies so as to guarantee their best achievements in the future. Also education practitioners such as TCU should ensure that they select students with good performance so as to avoid loss of government money and students’ time
