    The assessment of mobile commerce usage among entrepreneurs in Tanzania

    The study aimed at investigates the use of mobile commerce services among SMEs. The survey was conducted through administration of questionnaires. Data collected from a sample of 70 SMEs in Dar es salaam, Tanzania. Analysis of the data was done using SPSS where factor analysis was mainly deployed. Findings show that, the users of mobile commerce fall between 25 to 39 years and majority of them are males. In terms of business use of these services financial transactions, payment of bills and account review and using the service as a bank account were the major forces driving the usage among others. The value of using mobile services were identified as being to shorten time to market, convenience, and enhancing customer relationships reveal that mobile commerce benefits of convenience, transformation of customer relations, improved new sales channel, increased productivity, generation of new sales, and improved direct saving were related to the actual usage of the mobile commerce by the small businesses to enhance their success and growth. The study concludes that, the use of mobile commerce among SMEs as being financial transactions, marketing and banking services. The values of using these services include shorten time to market, convenience, and enhancing customer relationships. Both providers have to expand the services so as to bring more value to the uses and enhance business performance
