    Applicability of mobile commerce in developing countries: the case Study of Mobile Phone Services in Tanzania

    The study was about applicability of mobile commerce in developing countries, the case study of mobile phone services in Tanzania. The framework was developed to explain key determinants of reliability of the system, technology acceptance and readiness of users. The study used questionnaires to collect data, which were then tested using regression analysis. The model (regression) was used to test the reliability and validity of data collected and then significance level was ascertained for further analysis.The research received 175 questionnaires from its respondents and only 170 were entered for further analysis. Data were collected from various people ﴾both male and female ﴿ in the whole of Dar es Salaam city. Results showed that all three variables positively correlated with analysis of study. Therefore, the researcher concluded that they can be used to determine applicability of m-commerce in developing countries. The research also found out that awareness was also among the reasons why people in developing countries are not using m-commerce. The research concluded that for m-commerce to be applied in developing countries, the systems should be reliable, people should be ready to use it and the technology should be accepted. Also service providers should make sure that creation of awareness is very high to remind users that they can get varieties of services from their mobile phone. The research had some limitation like collection of data, it was expected all mobile phone could provide cooperation but unfortunately some did not cooperate and hence the research had visit their website at least to get some details.
