    A dissertation of ten surgical conditions
    (1992) Ndile, Paul Robert
    The dissertation consists of ten surgical conditions studied by the author during the three years of training. It is divided into parts. Part I consists of 5 cases of general surgery; Part II consists of 2 cases of Urology; and Part III consists of 3 cases of Orthopaedic and Traumatology. In each condition there is a detailed account of one index case followed by a tabular summary of the features of the rest of sample for each condition. In Part I the cases presented are: (a) Forty nine patients who had inguinal hermiorrhaphies in surgical firm III, Department of Surgery, Muhimbili Medical Centre between January 1988 and December 1990. (b) Twenty-eight patients who were treated for acute appendicitis in surgical firm III in Muhimbili Medical Centre between January 1988 and December 1990. (c) Eleven patients with sigmoid volvulus admitted to the general surgical wards in Muhimbili medical centre were studied in terms of clinical presentation and management.
