    Assessment of ICT influence as a tool in entrepreneurial behaviour and poverty reduction in Tanzania: a case of Dar es Salaam and Coast Regions

    The main objective of the study was to assess the influence of ICT as a tool in poverty reduction and creation of entrepreneurial behavior in Dar es Salaam and Coast Regions in Tanzania. The study mainly based on entrepreneurs and MSMEs employees. The sample was 151 respondents. This makes more than 90 percent of the target respondents.The approach used was explanatory study, which aimed to establish the relationship among the three variables which are influence of ICT in poverty reduction, the impact of ICT in creating entrepreneurial behavior and ICT influence in the development of MSMES. The study employed positivism paradigm in primary data collection. SPSS software was used in data analysis by using linear regression model for hypothesis tests. This study’s findings indicate that ICT as a tool has a strong relationship in poverty reduction, creation of entrepreneurial behavior and development of MSMEs. This study recommends that entrepreneurs need to be empowered by providing them with simple accounting skills and more advance ICT device usage so as to make their daily undertakings more profitable and hence contribute to their income generation hence reduce their poverty level.
