    Changing Methods of Studio Sound Production of Popular Music in Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar, Tanzania

    This study provides information about changing methods of studio production of popular music in Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar, Tanzania. It attempts to articulate for the reader the changing methods of audio studio production of popular music in Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar, as well as to consider the historical and cultural circumstances that have had influence on these recording methods. Chapter One presents a general statement of the problem to which the dissertation addresses itself that of the gap in the literature of significant knowledge concerning the changing methods of studio production of popular music in Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar. It also provides the objectives of the study and the guiding questions that are answered in the study; Chapter Two offers a review of the literature that has focused on the changing methods of studio production of popular music in Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar, and the literature on the historical and cultural influences that have affected these changing methods; Chapter Three tells the methodology used by the researcher to obtain significant data for the study; Chapter Four focuses on answering the first research question that describes the changing methods in studio sound production of popular music in Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar; Chapter Five explores the second research question, investigating the historical and cultural influences that brought about the changes in studio sound production of popular music in Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar; and Chapter Six presents a summary of the study and conclusions derived from the study and offers recommendations for further study.
