    Assessing the influence of motivation on employee’s performance in Tanzania work organizations: “A Case of Vodacom Tanzania, Dar es Salaam Region”

    Motivated employee performs duties with diligence while non motivated employees will always seek to quit from the current organization. Therefore, the influence of motivation on performance is indisputable. The study assessed the influence of motivation on employees’ performance in work organizations using a case of Vodacom Tanzania in Dar es Salaam Region as a case study. The study employed questionnaires, key informants, interviews, Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) and documentations. A sample of 60 respondents was selected using purposive and random sampling techniques. Qualitative and simple quantitative computation research techniques were used. Statistical Package for Software Systems (SPSS) was also employed in data analysis. The study findings indicated that all groups of the respondents were consulted. Also, the respondents showed that majority of them had knowledge on the role of motivation in improving performance. The study show that motivated employees performed to the higher standards while non motivated employees with a lot of problems could not use their maximum efforts in working for organizations. The study findings also indicated that methods used to motivate employees included payment of monthly bonuses, rewarding the hard working employees, organizing family day’s celebration on regular basis, promoting employees as well as reasonable salaries in relation to the cost of living. The study also provides the recommends that the company should do whatever possible to reduce the degree of the dissatisfaction of employees through dealing with individual who are not satisfied with organization motivation strategies. Lastly, there should be a strong communication and vital feedback in maintaining motivation and in particular the achievement of higher goals of the individuals and organization
