Item Managerial aspects causing disparities in teachers’ deployment in Tanzania public secondary schools a case of coast and dar e- salaam regions(University of Dar es Salaam, 2011) Mmbaga, Flavian AthumaniThe study investigated the managerial factors causing disparities in deployment of teachers in Tanzania Public secondary schools. It was guided by three objectives which were to identify the existing administrative modalities in which Tanzania public secondary school teachers' deployment were based, to investigated the teachers' adherence or disobedience to rules, procedures practices and criteria governing their deployment in secondary schools and inquired how data and information management influence deployment of secondary school teachers in Tanzania. Data collection methods employed were interviews, focus group discussion and documentary reviews. The study found that different administrative modalities existed in the education management system and to a great extent caused disparities in deployment of teachers. The study too found that disobedience to rules, procedures practices and criteria governing teachers' deployment in secondary schools caused disparities in deployment of teachers in Tanzania public secondary schools. Lastly the study found that poor data and information management caused disparities in deployment of secondary school teachers in Tanzania. The study recommended that simple improved modality under a single organ be used to accommodate teachers training, recruitment, transfer and replacement; the managers and teachers should stick to rules and laws put forth to govern teachers employment procedures; and that EMIS knowledge be provided to education stakeholders to show the importance, need and use of data and information.
