This study assessed the effect of teacher’s compensation practices in private secondary schools in Tanzania, a case study of Mbezi Secondary School. The main objective of this study was to investigate the effect of teachers’ compensation practices in private secondary schools in Tanzania. This has resulted into high teacher turnover at Mbezi Secondary School. The study also revealed that inadequate compensation to teachers has caused reduction of stundent’s performance. This study concluded that, in order for the school to have teachers who are happy and ready to stay for a long period of time, then should make sure that there is fair compensation to teachers. Also teachers must be consulted for their compensation allowances since will enable them feel valued hence improve their commitment to the school.
