Item Modelling the relationship between the key performance indicators of the big results now and performance of the national key result areas.(University of Dar es Salaam, 2018) Mbunda, AndrewTanzania is now implementing the Tanzania Development vision (TDV-2025) which aimed at transforming the country to be a middle income country by 2025. The idea of the vision came in place in the late 1990s and officially launched by the Government in year 2000. In 2010 a review of the first 10 years of implementation of the TDV 2025 was done to find out whether implementation of the programme was on track. The review concluded that the implementation was not performing efficiently and effectively. It was further pointed out that in order to attain the mentioned objective of the vision there was a need of having a more focussed, disciplined and a well coordinated delivery methodology. The Big Results Now (BRN) delivery methodology was introduced in the year 2012. The methodology involved six prioritised sectors of economy, Agriculture, Education, Energy, Transport, Water and resource mobilization. The performance of each economic sector is assessed by three criteria, Assessment of qualitative criteria, Top-line key performance indicators, and National Key Result Areas Key performance indicators. After a year of implementation, the first annual BRN report was given out. The report showed the performance (in percentage) in each of the six prioritised sectors of economy. The first BRN report forms the basis of this study. The study has shown that all the six NKRAs are significant to the BRN methodology. The study has also revealed that, two NKRA’s, Water and Agriculture sectors are very sensitive to the BRN methodology. This means, the more we invest to Water and Agricultural sector, the more we achieve the BRN targets. However, the study has marked Education sector as a more challenging sector. Education beta variations for the three models clearly show that Education sector is facing a lot of challenges. In Addition, key problems facing Education are not deeply addressed in the BRN methodology.
