The study used both qualitative and quantitative approach. Findings reveal that very few teachers have the basic idea of CBE, while a big number have slight or completely lack of knowledge on this concept. The challenges of the implementation of English language curriculum; teachers lack the required knowledge to adopt CBE, teachers are still using the traditional teaching methods which do not maximize the teaching of CBE English language curriculum. There is no satisfactory mastery of competences by the students in selected topics. The forms of assessment used by the teachers were not performance-based assessment of competence of the English Language curriculum. Seminars and workshops need to be conducted to the teachers to expose them to CBE in English Language teaching. The Ministry of Education through the local government authority, the National Examination Council of Tanzania and school managers should organize in-service training from time to time to train teachers on CBE.The heads of schools, academic masters and heads of departments should frequently do the internal monitoring of curriculum implementation at school levels.
