    Assessment of management impacts on commercial banks’ integration with mobile network operators in Tanzania: a case of NMB PLC

    The general objective of the study was to assess commercial banks’ management decision on choice of mobile network operators’ integration in Tanzania. Specifically, on the following objectives; to assess the role of management in establishing appropriate choice of mobile banking systems; to assess the role of external factors in establishing appropriate choice of mobile banking systems; to identify the support offered by management in establishing appropriate choice of mobile network operator. Simple random sampling technique was used to determine sample units for the study which helped in the section of 100 employees of National Microfinance Bank based in Dar as Salaam. The study used both primary and secondary data in establishing the findings while for data collection tools a questionnaire was used. For Data analysis, regression analysis technique was used. The findings of the study shows that commercial banks management play a significant role in determining the choice of mobile network operators to integrate with. Besides management influence external factors also determine the choice of mobile network operator, however there are some external variables that do not support this integration. From the analysis of the findings, this study highlights recommendations that management of commercial banks should emphasizes when choosing mobile network operator they should integrate with as to have a win-win situation for the commercial bank business and also as to result to successful mobile banking system.
