    Determinants of the quality of health insurance services in Tanzania.

    Studies have been conducted in Tanzania on the assessment of the factors affecting the quality of health insurance services. However, it has been realized that further studies on the determinants of quality of health Insurance services are required in Tanzania for assessing the determinants of quality of health insurance services by examining the influence of competence of health care workers, availability of medicine and costs beyond health insurance cover on the quality of health insurance services in Tanzania in terms of assurance, reliability and responsiveness of health insurance services as adopted and adapted from the RATER model. Data were collected using the five point likert scale questionnaires from 94 respondents and were analyzed using the Statistical package for social sciences (SPSS Version …) data analysis program. Multiple regression analysis was used to examine the influence of independent variables on dependent variables. Relationships were established and assessed using statistical tools namely coefficients, t value, p value, R-Square value, analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and Durbin Watson value. After testing the study hypotheses it was established that the competence of health care workers, availability of medicine and costs beyond health insurance cover positively influence the reliability of health insurance services in Tanzania. In order to improve the quality of health insurance services in Tanzania, the study recommends health insurance organizations to employ competent workers, ensure availability of medicine and minimize costs beyond health insurance to clients. Further studies using the other two items of the RATER model have been recommended.
