    Entrepreneurial educational skills in technical vocational training as a strategy to reduce unemployment in Tanzania: a case study of Veta Dar es Salaam

    Entrepreneurial educational skills in vocational trainings in Tanzania recently have gained more momentum compared to previous times. This study presents an assessment of Entrepreneurial educational skills in technical vocational training as a technique and strategy to reduce unemployment in Tanzania. Specifically, how VETA graduates manage to employ themselves. Various data collection tools such as; questionnaires and interviews were used to meet the intention of the study. The study used structured questionnaire method with closed and open ended questions. A strategic sampling technique was used for research sampling with application of SPSS version 20 to process data collected in which descriptive statistics methods such as frequencies and mean were applied. The study Entrepreneurial educational skills of more important it discovered how useful entrepreneurial skills were provided by technical vocational training which support to solve unemployment problem in the country. The results show that it is easier for students with vocational and entrepreneurial skills to employ themselves as they graduate their programs with practical skills which help them to adopt easily on the job environment related to what they were studying. There was consideration on challenges such as low acceptance among Tanzanians, for been viewed as education for failed students. Further the study brought out recommendation for VETA education to be valued. The study provided the suggestions that; to the government it is now time to turn its attention to vocational training as alternative way of reducing unemployment in the country through formulation of policies to making vocation training education to be for anyone, not for the failed students. To VETA, entrepreneurial educational skill has to be compulsory for their courses offered, not extra program a student has to take. It has to be considered that results found in this study are a representative of all regions in Tanzania. The study was only done in the city of Dar es Salaam. One can try and find out views and situations of graduates of VETA in other regions of Tanzania to see if the rate of unemployment has been reduced.
